FAQ · dataset facts buyers ask for
Answers to the most common questions about the data, access, and permitted use.
Is RxAtlas endorsed by FDA or NLM?
No. RxAtlas normalizes public data and includes source attribution, but it is not endorsed by FDA, NLM or CMS.
What does one RxAtlas row represent?
A validated full release uses one openFDA product NDC as one row. Package NDCs are aliases; SPL set IDs, RxCUIs, and application numbers are associations and do not create or merge product rows by themselves.
Does every row include RxCUI, NADAC, and approval data?
No. Those fields are optional source enrichments. RxAtlas publishes their measured fill rates and source freshness for each full release instead of implying universal coverage.
What happens when two drug sources disagree?
RxAtlas retains source-qualified observations and provenance rather than erasing the disagreement. The served value follows the documented selection rules, while source ids, URLs, confidence, and prior evidence remain available for review.
How current is a purchased snapshot?
Each snapshot is dated and versioned. The coverage and release pages show the source refresh evidence behind it, and the listed snapshot tiers include weekly releases for 12 months under the current offer.
Can I evaluate the real schema before buying?
Yes. The free sample uses the production record contract and includes representative product rows, formats, schema information, source facts, and provenance for evaluation.
What does the standard licence allow?
Standard tiers cover internal commercial use. Customer-facing display, substantial redistribution, resale, and AI or ML training require separately scoped Enterprise rights. Published analysis must preserve applicable source attribution; see the licence summary and source notes.
Can I upgrade from Snapshot to Snapshot + API?
Yes during the published launch promotion. The Snapshot amount is credited in full toward Snapshot + API for 12 months after the original purchase.
How do I report a wrong drug value?
Use the contact page with the RxAtlas record id, field name, and a contradicting public source. Accepted corrections are investigated and recorded in a later versioned release.
Can I pay per row without a subscription?
Yes. Full record lookups cost $0.025 per row; search pages cost $0.10, and coverage calls cost $0.25. Settlement uses x402 (USDC on Base) or MPP (USDC on Base and Tempo). No subscription is required.
